As a home baker, if you’re anything like us, you’ve probably experienced stubborn, clumpy dough climbing up your stand mixer’s dough hook. You’ve prayed it doesn’t burn itself out as it desperately fights to build a little bit of gluten in the dough. This is what mixing dough in your average home stand mixer (called a “planetary mixer” because of how the attachment rotates) is like.
So, we decided to make something that didn’t just make good dough. We wanted to build a mixer that made the best dough while providing the best possible experience for the home baker. The Ooni Halo Pro does all that, plus it meets our exceptionally high standards for durability and innovation. Of course, you can make some mean cupcakes with it, too.
Spiral mixing technology inspired by professional baking
For years, commercial kitchens, bakeries and pizzerias have used a different kind of mixer to deliver their dough–spiral mixers.
Dual kneading: Unlike planetary mixers, both the bowl and dough hook rotate, gently mixing and kneading ingredients against the stainless steel Removable Breaker Bar. This double-kneading action forms the long gluten strands that pizza and bread dough need to develop and proof properly.
Dishwasher-safe stainless steel bowl: The 7-liter bowl can hold up to 11 pounds (5kg) of dough. To put that into perspective, that’s enough dough for about twenty 12-inch pizzas in just one batch.
Precision Control: Access 58 RPM (from 60 to 345) settings from an intuitive, digital interface and ergonomic control dial.
Die-cast aluminum body: The robust, sturdy body keeps the mixer steady and protects it from daily wear and tear.
Mixing. Whisking. Beating.
The Ooni Halo Pro ’s tilt-head mechanism and patent-pending Removable Breaker Bar allow you to switch up the attachments easily. With the Flexible Beater and Geared Whisk attachments, you’ll want to stretch your skills and try new recipes and baking styles. These are great for whipping up batters for cakes, cookies, biscuits, pastries and whatever else your heart (or sweet tooth) desires.
