Influencer Emilie Kiser's emotional plea to parents one year after son Trigg's tragic death: 'It was an accident' - 9Honey Watch TV News Sport Lifestyle Travel Entertainment Product Reviews Stan Domain Drive Connect with us Search latest Royals Honey Loves Nine 9Honey Latest Influencer Emilie Kiser's emotional plea to parents one year after toddler's tragic death: 'This is extremely hard' By Rosie Scott | 2 weeks ago Mum and influencer Emilie Kiser has issued a heartbreaking reminder nearly one year after her three-year-old son's tragic death after he drowned in their family pool. In a video shared to 5.1 TikTok followers, Kiser, 27, urged parents to take "more preventative measures" when it came to pool and water safety. She hoped viewers could understand it was an "extremely hard [topic] to talk about", but she felt ready to address such an important issue. Watch the video above. Kiser said there was "no right or wrong way to talk about" what happened, but it remains an important issue. (TikTok @emiliekiser) "Our son's death was very preventable. It was an accident, but it was a preventable accident," the mum-of-two began. "I will always take full accountability for that, because as a parent, it is your job to protect your child." Her son Trigg Kiser, 3, who featured heavily on his mum's TikTok and Instagram videos, was found unconscious in the family's backyard pool in May last year. He died six days later. (Instagram/@emiliekiser) Police reports claim Trigg fell into the pool when Emilie was not home. Her husband Brady was home with Trigg and their younger son, two months at the time, when Trigg fell. May is also Water Safety Awareness Month. The social media star stressed that in the US, "drowning is the number one cause of death" in children ages one to four. "And that is an extremely hard statistic to swallow," she said holding back tears. "I hope if this comes across your page, instead of ridiculing the video or passing by it... I hope you take at least one of the things I'm saying and apply it," she stated. "Please, please, please install a pool fence. Make sure you have door alarms. Make sure if you have door alarms, all of your batteries are updated," she advised. "Please make sure that you watch your children around water." In Australia, pool fences are required by law, with different states having different standards and requirements. The mum also encouraged parents to enrol their children into swimming lessons from an early age, and get CPR training. Emilie revealed she enrolled their youngest son in infant swimming lessons after Trigg's (right) passing. (Instagram/Emilie Kiser) Emilie has called Trigg (pictured at two years old) her "forever baby". (Instagram / @emiliekiser) Three-year-old Trigg sadly passed away on 18 May 2026 in what Kiser called the "worst moment of my life" . Police were called to a home in Phoenix, after reports of a drowning. According to a police report obtained by Arizona Republic , Trigg tripped and fell into the water while playing unsupervised with an inflatable chair. It was reported dad Brady pulled Trigg from the pool and began CPR immediately until paramedics arrived. The toddler was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and sadly died six days later, as confirmed by the Maricopa County medical examiner. This isn't the first time Emilie has spoken about water and pool safety since the tragic incident. (Instagram @emiliekiser) Kiser has over five million followers on TikTok, two million followers on Instagram with most of her content documenting her life as a mum. She and her husband, Brady, became parents in July 2021 when they welcomed their son Trigg. They welcomed their second son Theodore in March 2025.
