Kmart finds: The $20 Kmart buy that can help you find everything from luggage to pets | Smart tags for Apple and Android - 9Honey Watch TV News Sport Lifestyle Travel Entertainment Product Reviews Stan Domain Drive Connect with us Search latest Royals Honey Loves Nine 9Honey Latest The $20 Kmart buy that can help you find everything from luggage to pets By Rachael Gavin | 2 weeks ago Smart tags can help you work out where you left your wallet or keys. Produced in partnership with Kmart Realising you've lost something is one of the worst feelings. From pets, to luggage, your phone and even family members, there's often a panic before you can methodically think through where to start looking. One $20 gadget has become a game-changer for people trying to not only avoid those dreaded moments, but know exactly where that item or person is. Smart tags and luggage trackers are a reliable way to keep track of things and mean less worry, whether you're travelling or just at home and can't find your wallet. Smart tags are most frequently used to track luggage. (iStock/Kmart) Kmart has various Apple Find my compatible smart tags for $20 each, as well as an Android compatible smart tag for $25. You can make your children more likely to use them with the dinosaur and unicorn designs , and for the adults there are black and white options, as well as lilac for Apple phones. For Serena, smart tags have been useful for travelling. "I love smart tags for an extra sense of security with items. We were very grateful we had them in our suitcases when the airlines lost our bags between Germany and Spain. I also keep one on my keys as a back up for if I ever really can't find them," she says. (Kmart/iStock) Nine travel editor Kristine Tarbert agrees that smart tags are a must in suitcases these days. "Losing your luggage while travelling is something many people are concerned about and for good reason as millions of suitcases go missing every year. That's why luggage trackers have become a travel must-have," she says. "Not only can they give you piece of mind knowing where your bag is, but there have also been some cases where travellers have used the information from their luggage trackers to help airlines track down a missing bag." Smart tags can be popped into a child's backpack in case it gets lost or left behind. (Kmart/iStock) But people are using them for more than just luggage with smart tags helping ease fears or pets going missing. "I only have one smart tag and it is attached to my dog's collar! I'm a helicopter pet parent and constantly paranoid about losing him (although if he did get out he'd make it five metres down the street and turn back to find me)," Chantelle says. "Even though I've never had to use it, it gives me peace of mind always knowing where he is when I'm not with him, especially if I go on holidays and leave him with friends, family or a dog sitter, I can check in on where he is." Some pet owners put smart tags on their cats and dogs in case they go missing. (iStock/Kmart) Jess found a different way to use smart tags that was incredibly helpful. "My husband ran with an smart tag when he ran the Sydney Marathon a few years ago. It was handy to keep track of him when the marathon app lagged," she says. For Jemima a smart tag is giving "great peace of mind". "I have a family member with early signs of dementia so we have smart tag in her wallet at all times just in case something happens and we need help finding her," she says. Smart tag type-C: $20 each These smart tags are compatible with iPhones. (Kmart) Available in black , white or lilac , the smart tag type-C comes with a twist-lock stainless steel wire loop and two-pin charging cable. It comes with a rechargeable battery, which takes two to two and a half hours to charge and lasts for 90 days. It works with luggage, backpacks, wallets, keys and more, is waterproof against rain (thought can't be submerged in water) and it works with Apple Find My. Kids smart tag: $20 each These smart tags have kid-friendly designs to encourage kids to pop them in their backpacks. (Kmart) Those moments when the kids come home without their belongings aren't such of a worry when they've got these with them. The kids smart tags come in a dinosaur design on a blue background and a unicorn graphic on a pink background. They come with a twist-lock stainless steel wire loop and a two-pin charging cable. Luggage tag tracker: $20 each They look like luggage tags but they actually track where your suitcase is. (Kmart) This design looks just like a luggage tag except it's a tracker. The compact design makes it easy to slot into wallets and other small compartments in bags. It works with Apple Find My, takes one and a half to two hours to recharge and that charge lasts for about 90 days. Available in black or white. Type-C Google smart tag: $25 each This smart tag is compatible with Android phones. (Kmart) Anyone with an android phone isn't left out of the convenience of smart tag technology thanks to this device. This one works with the Android Find Hub app and locates items by sound or map. It is rechargeable with four months of battery life, waterproof against rain and has a stainless steel key loop to easily attach to bags. Product prices are current as at April 30, 2026.
